5 Steps to getting what you want
November 8, 2021GARY!!!” “Will you sign my book?” I screamed as I ran toward the stage at Amway Center in my four-inch heels whilst holding my Jab, Jab, Jab Right Hook book above my head as high as I could so he could see it. I didn’t care what anyone thought. Although I had always wanted to see Tony Robbins in person, I was there to get Gary Vaynerchuck’s autograph and a selfie with him, and I was going to make. it. happen. I didn’t care because my heart was beating so rapidly out of my chest and into my eardrums that I couldn’t hear the crowd applauding him as he was starting to exit the stage, I didn’t care because there were 8,000 people there and this was MY shot and dammit I was going to take it or live with that regret forever. That morning as I was leaving the hotel, I grabbed my book and proclaimed to Michelle that I needed it to get my autograph and selfie with Gary. She said, “You go girl.” When we arrived at Amway Center and headed to the floor to find seats, I carefully positioned myself in the aisle as close to the stage as possible (which happened to be about 30 rows back). I went live on FB and proclaimed again that I couldn’t wait to meet Gary Vee and get my autograph and selfie with him.
I had no idea in what order the speakers came out, or exactly how I was going to get past security when I had my shot. Surprisingly Gary was introduced first, and I was glued to every single word he said, so when started to say “thank you Orlando, it’s been great…” my heart SANK. Then it exploded and my brain yelled at me, Eminem style, “this is it, this is your one shot, the only opportunity that you got. I wasn’t going to blow this, so I grabbed my book, my phone and my pen and booked it toward the stage. Thanks to my years of training running in heels during wet Florida summers, I made it all the way without a face plant.
As I turned around to face the mob that was attempting to get to Gary, I was GLOWING. I was beaming from ear to ear, and I had no idea what the heck just happened. I strutted back to my chair with so much adrenaline pulsing through my body that my brain was numb. The girls cheered me on with excitement, and I sat down to process what had just happened.
As I had approached the stage and yelled to Gary, he waived me over to the stairs where he met me to sign my book. I asked for a selfie and he said “quickly”, so I fumbled with my phone and only got one shot. It was all I needed. As soon as it took, he turned and walked off stage, and he kept my pen. OMG he kept my pen, my company pen. Out of 8,000 people, I, Sarah Hasch, woman of intention and manifestation, was the only one who got that opportunity. In that moment, I knew that I can have anything I want.
I spent years reading and listening to Wayne Dyer and Tony Robbins – believing in the power of intention and manifestation, writing down goals, speaking them out loud… and nothing. I was constantly quoting ‘what you think about you bring about,’ yet time after time nothing I wanted manifested, so I came to believe the lie that it doesn’t work. I believed it because all the bad stuff always happened to me. No one wanted to be with me, I’m never going to achieve my goals.
Wait, did I just say that I believe in the power of words, intention and manifestation, and in the same breath that ALL the bad stuff always happens to me? I sure did. Why couldn’t I get this right? Well, several reasons. For starters I only focused on what I wanted, and basically made a wish for it. When my fairy godmother didn’t magically make it appear I let the want go. Also, even though I ‘knew’ about the law of the universe, the spirit of reciprocity and the law of the harvest, I only took. Yep, I was a taker – a big fat, selfish energy vampire that cared only about myself and my needs. So how exactly did I get to this place? How exactly did I become this woman of manifestation? I’ll save the full story of transformation for another blog, but for now here are my top five tips for getting exactly what you want:
Give – I mentioned the spirit of reciprocity. What you give, you receive back, and then some… TEN-fold. Zig Ziglar said you can have everything you want in life if you just help enough people get what they want. You can proclaim anything and everything you want, but if you aren’t giving, you aren’t receiving. Once I realized what a selfish person I was and I learned how to give without expectation, the door to receiving opened and this turned around.
Speak truth and proclaim your intentions – Words are so powerful. I pointed out earlier that I believed all the bad stuff. I didn’t just believe it, I talked about it. I proclaimed everything I didn’t want, and boy did I receive it. And because I wasn’t giving and I spoke about lack, I attracted more lack.
Act – You have to work for it. There is no fairy godmother that is going to drop your heart’s desires into your lap – you must take action. Did Gary Vaynerchuck run down to the stage to sign my book because I proclaimed it? No, I had to go get it.
Don’t listen to others – Listen only to your heart. The ONLY person who wants you to succeed as much as you do, is you. Even the best of intentions can sometimes sound like someone trying to squash your dreams.
Persevere – You cannot reap what you sow if you do not continue to water and nurture your garden. So continue to give, speak the truth, and proclaim and act.
